The Tale of Lord Hanuman

Lord Hanuman is a well-known Hindu deity who is the provider of strength, power and victory. He represents the true meaning of devotions and loyalty. Once Vanar Raj, Kesari reached near Prabhas Tirtha and found the gatherings of sages and saints, who were busy doing pujas. Later, an elephant arrived and started killing those sages. When Kesari saw the elephant raging from a nearby mountain peak, he uprooted the elephant’s giant teeth and killed the huge animal to save other’s lives. Observing this, sages asked Kesari for his wishes, and in reply, Kesari asked for a son. The sages granted his wish, and later, he was blessed with a son, Lord Hanuman.


The Idol Of Lord Hanuman

The Hindu myths describe the idol of Lord Hanuman as a strong man with the face of a monkey. He has a very muscular and powerful body. He wears a Janeu (sacred thread) on his left shoulder. Lord Hanuman is seen wearing only a nappy (langot) in the idol. Also, the great devotee of Lord Rama, Hanuman Ji is wearing a golden-coloured crown on his forehead. Lord Hanuman is carrying a deadly weapon of mace in one hand while with the other hand is granting the wishes of his devotees.


How Lord Hanuman Misunderstood The Sun As A fruit

If we believe in myths, once Lord Hanuman misunderstood the Sun as a fruit in his childhood. Rahu tried his best to stop Lord Hanuman Ji, but it failed, and Lord Hanuman ate the Sun. Rahu then approached Indra Dev and sought his help in order to stop Lord Hanuman from eating the Sun. Afterwards, Lord Indra stood up with his thunderbolt and restricted young Hanuman from swallowing the Sun. Following that, Lord Brahma met Pawan Dev with other gods and gave him a boon that any weapon cannot kill him. At the same time, other gods also gave boons, which made Lord Hanuman even more powerful.


Lord Hanuman's Role In Ramayana

The epic tale of Ramayana wonderfully describes how Lord Hanuman’s journey to Lanka and his heroics. Also, Ramcharitmanas narrates the story of Lord Hanuman. It reveals how Jambavan reminded Lord Hanuman about his supernatural powers.

Ramayana states that when Lord Hanuman learnt about the kidnapping of Maa Sita, he alone went to Lanka and destroyed the whole city using his tail. Ramayana suggests that great devotee Lord Hanuman was very loyal to Lord Ram and Maa Sita that he used to keep them in his heart. Lord Hanuman tried his best to save Lord Ram’s brother, Lakshmana, from the jaws of death. He saved the life of Lakshmana by giving him a rare medicine called Sanjeevani Booti. Other than this, there are many facts mentioned in Ramayan, which indicates the valour and devotion of Lord Hanuman.
