The 2020 Great Conjunction is not worth missing!
16th July 1623 was the last time the world saw Jupiter and Saturn getting all cozy-cozy. Although that time also the Sun was at 13° east, which made it difficult for many to see. Whereas, the ‘great conjunction’ which happened on 4th March 1226 was easy to see.
Now the question is why is 21st December 2020’s Great Conjunction not worth missing? The Great Conjunction happens every 20 years, so what’s the hype?
Well, Jupiter and Saturn conjunctions last occurred in the year 2000. But all these conjunctions are not treated equally. This Great Conjunction won’t be matched again until 15th March 2080.
You can expect the next Great Conjunction in 2040, although it can be said for sure that one won’t be as iconic as the one today.
As for the closeness of Jupiter and Saturn, they won’t be this close again until 2080. In this rare fashion, Jupiter hugs Saturn fully to cover it. And this event that is happening on 21st December 2020 won’t happen again until 7541.
