Hanuman Jayanti Puja Vidhi

Although Hanuman Puja can be done on any day of the year, performing the Hanuman Puja on the day of Hanuman Jayanti i.e. the birthday of Lord Hanuman is highly auspicious. Therefore it is also known as Hanuman Jayanti Puja. Now that we know about all the items that are required to perform the Hanuman Puja with all the right rituals and methods, let us take a look at the Hanuman Puja Vidhi step-by-step.

Wake up early in the morning and take a bath
After bathing, wear clean clothes and sit in front of an idol of Lord Hanuman and make sure you are not facing south.
Now place some grains of wheat and a Kalash in front of Lord Hanuman’s idol
Pour some pure water in the Kalash and place a few mango leaves and a coconut on it.
Now light a lamp of Ghee and a lamp of Mustard oil.
Now mix jasmine oil with kumkum and apply it to Lord Hanuman’s idol.
Dress the idol in red clothes and sprinkle perfume on it.
Now apply “tilak” on Lord Hanuman’s forehead and offer him flowers and a garland.
Light the incense and incense sticks.
Offer roasted gram and jaggery along with Panchamrit to Lord Hanuman.
Now offer bananas, paan and take some rice in your hand as you think of Lord Hanuman.
Recite the Hanuman Chalisa at least seven times and perform the Aarti.
After the Aarti, distribute the Prasada between everyone present.
